MEET THE CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

Amanda Diedricks

Conference Co-Convenor

I have been working in the information sector for 10 years. I graduated from Curtin University of Technology with a BA Arts (Librarianship & Corporate Information Management).

I have been lucky enough to work across ACT Government institutions, from public and heritage collections to archives. I am currently a liaison librarian at the Canberra Institute of Technology.

Abbey Turrell

Conference Co-Convenor

I have been working in the archival profession for around 5 years after moving to Canberra from Adelaide.

I love working in a profession where we get to facilitate research and help the public find connection with the past. The detective work is fun too.

Lisa Joseph

Conference Committee Member

I have spent all of my archives career working with Manuscripts at the National Library, apart from a 12 month contract at the ABC News and Current Affairs Archive, and I recently transferred temporarily to the Manuscripts Team at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies.

Stuart Bennington

Conference Committee Member

I've been working with archives and records for over 20 years now.  What makes me happiest is to be able to make primary source materials available to a range of people.

I'm looking forward to this year's conference as I find it best when we get a chance to get together as archivists and exchange stories and experiences.

MEET THE PROGRAM COMMITTEE

Fiona Blackburn

Program Committee Member

I stopped working two years ago, after fourteen years working in libraries and archives, and prior employment in other completely unrelated industries; my final position was Manuscripts Collections Manager at the Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies. This was good and challenging work, which was a great way to finish, and is the basis of my current research into the challenges that white archivists encounter when handling Indigenous knowledge collections.
